Tangail is an important part of Bangladesh. It is criss-crossed by several rivers named The Jamuna, The Dhaleshwary, The Lauhajanga, etc. which make our land fertile. So Tangail has a rich agriculture. The western  part  of Tangail provides a lot of jute  and paddy. The other parts of Tangail provide us  with various food crops like pulse, potato, sugar-cane, etc. Tangail has 8,36180.32 Acers of  agricultural land and 56368.15 Acres of non-agricultural land.

Among the total cultivable land 5150.96 Acres are in agricultural sector and 5225.46 Acres are in non-agricultural sector. The farmers use scientific agricultural tools such as tractors, power-tillers, etc. They also use scientific insect-killers too. So the development of agriculture in  Tangail is increasing day by day. It has a shinning future. If the government takes proper steps, this agricultural sector will play a significant role in home and world market.
